Accused Pleads Guilty of Stealing At Pademba Road Court

Pademba Road Court No.7, 10th January, 2024: Magistrate Wilbri H.M.John has today remanded Henry Kamara at the Pademba Road Correctional Centre after pleading guilty to two counts of Larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act, 1916 and Malicious Damage contrary to Section 51 of the Malicious Damage Act, 1861.

According to the particulars of offence, accused Henry Kamara on Thursday, 23rd December, 2023 in the Freetown Judicial District in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone stole three aluminum slide glasses windows valued Three Thousand and Five Hundred Leones (Le. 3,500) each, all to the total value of Ten Thousand Five Hundred Leones (Le. 10,500), property of the Judiciary of Sierra Leone.

After the charges were put to him, accused Henry Kamara pleaded guilty.

The matter has been adjourned to 12th January, 2024 for record and sentencing.

Former President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma has today appeared before His Worship Magistrate Santigie I. S Bangura of the Pademba Road Magistrate Court No. 2 for the start of preliminary investigations into a-four-count charge including Treason, Misprision of Treason and Harbouring contrary to Law.

The State alleges that former President Ernest Bai Koroma on diverse dates between the 5th of November 2023 and the 26th day of November 2023 in Sierra Leone prepared to overthrow the government of Sierra Leone by unlawful means.

At the start of the investigations, the charges were read to the former President and no plea was taken.
