Judiciary of Sierra Leone Communications, Legal Aid Board Office in Freetown, 15th May, 2025: Sierra Leone’s Chief Justice, His Lordship Honourable Justice Komba Kamanda, while congratulating the Legal Aid Board, said he is very much impressed with the gains so far since the establishment of the agency in 2012.
He made this commendation in celebration of the tenth anniversary of the Sierra Leone Legal Aid Board as an independent non-profit Government agency.
“I’m here to publicly congratulate you on the sacrifices you are making,” he said, stressing that “the Legal Aid Board has made our job much easier in Court and thank you again because your sacrifice is a national service.”
The Chief Justice used the occasion to thank the Government of Sierra Leone for supporting the work of the Legal Aid Board. He singularly thanked the innate passion of the Executive Director Mrs. Fatmata Claire Carlton-Hanciles to provide legal representation to indigent or poor persons across the country.
