Pademba Road Magistrate’s Court No.1, 15th September, 2023 Freetown: Principal Magistrate, His Worship Magistrate Mark Ngegba has committed Police Officer for unlawful possession of Kush.
William Sawyer, a Police Officer was before the Court for alleged unlawful possession of Kush contrary to Section 8 (a) of the National Drug Control Act No.10 of 2008.
Accused William Sawyer of Timaya Ground at Kaningo and Sulaiman Sesay of New Camp, Grafton village in Waterloo, who’re on two separate files appeared in Court for unlawful possession of Kush.
William Sawyer was found in possession of 25.5 grams of Kush, without lawful authority.
According to the Principal Magistrate, His Worship Magistrate Mark Ngegba, he was convinced that Accused William Sawyer has a case to answer at the High Court. He therefore committed him to the High Court for trial. The matter will come up after the preparation of an indictment in the new Criminal Session.
Meanwhile, Accused Sulaiman Sesay’s matter comes up on 18th September, 2023.
The two accused persons William Sawyer and Sulaiman Sesay were refused bail and remanded at the Pademba Road Correctional Centre in Freetown.
