11/SEPTEMBER PROTEST: Magistrate Hadiru Daboh Remands 43

Ross Road Magistrate’s Court No.3: His Worship Magistrate Hadiru Daboh has remanded 43 accused persons at the Pademba Road Correctional Centre for Unlawful Procession, Riotous Conduct and Disorderly Behavior among other offences.

The 43-accused were brought before the Court to answer to five Counts to wit, Conspiracy to commit a crime contrary to law; Unlawful Possession contrary to section 17 (3) of the Public Order Act No. 46 of 1964; Riotous Conduct, contrary to Section 12(a) of the Public Order Act No. 46 of 1965 and Disorderly Behaviour, contrary to Section 12(a) of the Public Order Act No. 46 of 1965 as repealed and replaced by Act No. 15 of 1973.

It is alleged that on the 11th day of September, 2023 at the east end of Freetown Judicial District in the Western Rural of the Republic of Sierra Leone, the 43 accused persons conspired together and with other persons unknown to commit a crime to wit, Unlawful Procession without lawful authority.

The matter was prosecuted by DSP E.A. Deen. Representing the accused persons were Lawyers; M.Baratey, L.J Kamara, M.W.Jalloh, A.Turay, A.B Kamara, A.Kamara, M.Y Kallon.

Magistrate Hadiru Daboh refused bail and adjourned the matter to the 21st September, 2023.
